Our team of specialists handle high-risk pregnancies, backed up by well-equipped operation theatres and the ICU. Regular antenatal clinics are supported by well-equipped laboratories with ultrasound and colour Doppler. Latest equipments help in continuous fetal monitoring during labour.
Our gynaecologists regularly treat disorders of the female reproductive and urinary systems, including infertility, menopausal problems and hormone replacement therapies. The hospital is well-equipped to provide care for women diagnosed with possible gynaecologic cancer or pre-cancerous conditions.
Many conditions that previously requires a woman to undergo major surgery can now be treated at SMH using minimal invasive techniques such as laparoscopy. This approach enables most patients to return to routine activities in less time with less discomfort after the surgery. Pelvic and other reconstructive surgeries are also being taken up at the hospital. Laparoscopic procedures are done to handle reproductive organs, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, adhesions, uterine diseases and urinary incontinence, as well as to check for ectopic pregnancy, causes of pelvic pain, and tumours.
